FREDERICK COUNTY COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT
We are thrilled to share the first annual Frederick County Community Impact Report. It measures progress in areas like education, housing, and local partnerships, highlighting investments in community programs, construction mitigation, nonprofit support, and engagement events that strengthen connections across the region.
Rowan and our partners and proud to announce that we’ve invested more than $6.8 million above and beyond the scope of our development in Frederick County. At a high level, this includes the following initiatives undertaken by Rowan and our general contractors:
Weekly hosted food trucks for our neighbors
STEM Centers at Carroll Manor and Lincoln elementary schools
Tech Lab at the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County
Building out the West All Saints housing development in partnership with Habitat for Humanity
Enhanced traffic enforcement (flaggers, additional personnel, signage, etc.)
Concrete slab pour at the volunteer fire department
Frederick Community College renovations
Roadway improvements (new bike and turn lanes, swales)
Asphalt replacement on Ballenger Creek Pike
Additional street sweeping
Additional vibration monitoring
Upgrades and cleaning for local church
Tire washing stations for trucks and residents

January 2026 - Rowan Supports New Electrical Trades Lab at Frederick Community College
On January 9, 2026, Rowan held a ribbon-cutting celebration at the Monroe Center, marking the opening of Frederick Community College’s new Electrical Trades Lab.
Funding this lab is an investment in the next generation of Frederick County workers who will build the digital infrastructure that expands opportunity for families across our region and beyond.

November 2025 - Rowan and Boys & Girls Clubs of Frederick County Unveil New Technology Lab
Rowan is honored to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Frederick County to open a new state-of-the-art Technology Lab, designed to support local youth build confidence and digital skills in a safe, inspiring environment.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to support this project - from community partners and mentors to families and local leaders. We’re truly grateful for the collaboration and excited to see the impact this space will have on the next generation of Frederick County.

November 2025 - Rowan Celebrates Opening of New Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation STEM Center
Rowan is proud to celebrate the opening of a new Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation STEM Center, created in partnership to give local students hands-on access to robotics, engineering, and innovative learning tools.
Thank you to the educators, partners, and community members who made this possible. We’re grateful for the collaboration and excited to help expand opportunities for young people in Frederick County.

September 2025 - Rowan Sponsors Wi-Fi at the Great Frederick Fair
This year, Rowan is helping keep visitors connected as the official Wi-Fi sponsor of the Great Frederick Fair, which kicked off Sept. 12. The fair is one of the community’s most beloved traditions, bringing together agriculture, entertainment, and family fun.

August 2025 - Supporting Habitat for Humanity at Blue Crabs & Blueprints
Rowan was proud to support Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County’s annual Blue Crabs & Blueprints event as this year’s largest sponsor! The evening brought together local partners and neighbors to raise funds that directly support affordable housing in our community, including the West All Saints project. We’re so grateful to contribute to Habitat’s mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through housing.

August 2025 - Throwing Out the First Pitch at the Frederick Keys Game
Rowan team members enjoyed a summer night at the Frederick Keys game alongside our partners at IBEW Local 24, Frederick Health, and many other organizations. It was a great chance to connect outside of work, cheer on the home team, and celebrate the strong relationships that help power our projects in the community. We even got to throw out the first pitch! The evening was filled with good food, plenty of laughs, and a great game to top it off. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share experiences like this that strengthen our team and our partnerships.

June 2025 - Celebrating Nonprofit Leaders at the Ausherman Foundation Summit
Rowan joined community members and nonprofit leaders at the Ausherman Foundation’s annual Nonprofit Summit. The event celebrated this year’s grant recipients, who are making an extraordinary impact across Frederick County – Rowan provided two, $1,000 grants that were awarded to the United Way of Frederick and the Empowering Community Leaders Network. We’re honored to support the vision of strong, vibrant nonprofits at the heart of our community.

May 2025 - Supporting the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County
Rowan was proud to be the 2025-2026 Technology Sponsor of the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County, which announced their 2025 grant recipients this summer.
These organizations support women throughout the community who are facing challenging circumstances. Rowan’s sponsorship helps offset the organization’s operational expenses, allowing more donor dollars to be used for these impactful grants. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Women’s Giving Circle and look forward to seeing all the amazing work they do this year.

May 2025 - Rowan Teams Up With Frederick County Parks & Rec
In May, Rowan employees partnered with the Frederick County Parks & Recreation Department to identify a local park in need of some beautification – and we ended up removing more than 500 pounds of trash at Othello Park! We are always looking for ways to give back to the community, so if you have any ideas, drop us a note.

April 2025 - Go Lions! Rowan Sponsors Annual Carroll Manor PTA 5K/Fun Run
Rowan was thrilled to support the annual Roaring Lions 5k/Fun Run benefiting the Carroll Manor PTA back in April. Our local team loved the opportunity to lace up for a great cause. Thank you to CMES families for the opportunity to participate in such a great event.
Rowan appreciates every opportunity to partner with Carroll Manor Elementary, whether it be a new STEM Center or an annual fundraiser. We’re already training for next year!

April 2025 - Rowan Hosts Third Open House in Frederick County
Thank you to the 75+ Frederick County residents that came out to our recent Community Open House at the end of April.
Our team appreciated the opportunity to provide an update on our first project in Frederick County, and answer all of your questions related to energy and resiliency. Special thanks to the Maryland Department of the Environment for partnering with us on this important event. January 2025 - Rowan Speaks to the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek
Ron Cramer, Rowan’s Community Affairs Specialist, spoke to the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek in January. As the January club meeting speaker, Rowan spoke about our projects and commitment to the community, and signed a book about construction that will be placed in the Lincoln School Library. Thank you Rotary Club of Carroll Creek for having us!

November 2024 - Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County Announces Founding Carter Club Member, Rowan Digital Infrastructure
Rowan understands that strong communities need more than just jobs—we need safe and affordable homes, too.
That’s why we are partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County to build afford-able workforce housing units at the West All Saints Street Project. Rowan is immensely proud to be a founding member of the Carter Club, which recognizes individuals and organizations that contribute $10,000 or more annually.

November 2024 - Frederick County Public Schools and Rowan Launch New STEM Center at Carroll Manor Elementary School
Our support for the STEM center aims to inspire local students to explore careers in STEM fields, helping them develop the skills needed for the growing digital infrastructure industry. By investing in education, we are not only empowering students, but also supporting local families and contributing to the long-term prosperity of Frederick County.

Maryland Tech Council, Quantum Loophole and Rowan Digital Infrastructure co-hosted this event to bring together industry leaders, innovators, legislators, and professionals to explore the latest trends and advancements in data center technology.

August 2024 - techfrederick Quarterly Networking Breakfast
Following unanimous county approval for the inaugural project, the Frederick Data Center, in January 2024, Rowan announced two additional projects, Frederick II and Frederick III. Over the past year, Rowan has worked closely with local leaders, economic development professionals, community advocates, and other stakeholders to bring these projects to life.
Representatives from Rowan shared updates on these projects and engage in a Q&A session.
